Calibration

The speed of these operations depends upon the K3 CONFIG:RS-232 speed setting.

Buttons on this page are enabled only when the K3 Utility has established communications with your K3.

Calibrate RF Gain

Click to start the RF Gain calibration procedure. A 50 microvolt (S9) signal source, such as the Elecraft XG1 or XG2 Receiver Test Oscillator, or other signal generator, is required to perform calibration. If you do not have a signal generator available, a "factory default" RF Gain calibration table may also be used.

RF Gain calibration requires MCU revision 03.20 (or later) and DSP version 02.13 (or later). The "Calibrate RF Gain" button is disabled if your K3 has earlier firmware revisions installed.

Calibrate Transmitter Gain

Click to start the Transmitter Gain Calibration wizard, used to automate the Transmitter Gain Calibration procedure described in the K3 Owner's Manual.

Display Tx Gain Summary

Click to display the TXGN {pwr} menu item for each of the calibration frequencies of the most recent Transmitter Gain Calibration. This troubleshooting information may be useful in resolving a support issue.

The Display Tx Gain Summary button is disabled until Transmitter Gain Calibration has been performed with the K3 Utility.

Enter TCXO Data

Click to start the Enter Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator Data dialog. This dialog allows you to enter the temperature calibration data that accompanied your KCTXO3-1 1ppm High Stability Reference Oscillator.
